It was a beautiful sunny day in Tucson today with a high of 68 degrees, another perfect day for browsing the show. It was also a perfect day today for a rockhound hitch'n, and that's just what quartz miners Stuart and Annette Zove, owners of the Crystal Heaven mine in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, did at a ceremony performed this evening.

Stuart and Annette were married by Reverend Loyd Wren in a private room reserved for the occasion and ensuing party at the La Fluente, a well known and popular Mexican restaurant. The La Fluente gets loaded with rockhounds during the Show, as it offers good food, some local flavor and it's just a few blocks up the street from the Executive and Ramada Inns.

The ceremony began with a mariachi band playing Here Comes the Bride. Shown in a few of the other scenes above are Stuart and Annette showing off their just signed marriage license with their daughter and the minister, Stuart wondering what he's got himself into as he consults with Reverend Wren before the ceremony, and the happy couple exchanging rings after saying their "I dos".

There was a large party of family, friends and rockhounds participating. Some of the ladies in attendance were sporting rather classy earrings and other jewelry, revealing some deep connections to the earth and lapidary arts in this crowd. During the party after the ceremony, eveyone gorged themselves on some great Mexican cuisine. One tabletop was loaded with a quantity of champagne bottles on ice and glasses for toasting and celebration.

Congratualtions to Stuart and Annette! Well, Stuart, you lucky dog, you're going to have to dig even harder now... May all the shafts the two of you sink into the mother load of matrimonial bliss be productive ones.
