Here's some significant news for rockhounds and mineral connoisseurs! Lapis is a prestigious mineralogical publication renowned for its first class specimen photography and timely, professionally written articles. However, a problem for English only readers such as myself is that Lapis is a German publication which has unfortunately only been available only in German. That's recently changed, at least for the wonderful special editions, extraLapis, with Madagascar now available as the first English translated special edition. Two completely new special editions and two selected back issues will be translated to English and offered annually. Emeralds of the World will be published and available in April, 2002 as extraLapis English No. 2.

The single issue price of the extraLapis special editions is $24. If you place a pre-press order for Emeralds of the World prior to March 31, 2002 the cost is $18.00.
